“Hemp” is one of two varieties of the Cannabis sativa plant. The other of course is “marijuana.” Both the hemp and marijuana strains of the plant contain cannabidiol, or CBD, a compound that has been used to treat a wide range of conditions such as epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease. The primary difference between the two varieties is the amount of the psychoactive component “tetrahydrocannabinol” (THC). The hemp-derived CBD used in all of our products contains less than 0.3% THC, so it’s non-psychoactive and legal under section 7606 of the 2014 Farm Bill.
Why CBD Oil from the USA?
As a U.S.A small business, we are determined to source as many of our raw ingredients and materials from U.S.A companies as possible – which helps to keep our carbon footprint down, supports the U.S. economy and ensures quality products. This includes the CBD oil used in our new CBD & Honey Collection!
Why does this matter? Because as we’ve said time and time again – what you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it.
It’s been reported that China is the number one supplier of industrial hemp to the U.S., which means that many of the hemp-derived CBD products on the U.S. market (body care and edibles) are possibly produced with Chinese hemp oil. And while hemp has few natural enemies and therefore there’s little need for pesticides, you would think that hemp-derived CBD, regardless of where it is grown, is somewhat safe.
However, after all the food scandals we’ve witnessed coming out of China, such as fake honey, contaminated food, baby formula and deathly dog treats, why would anyone risk it? Especially when you research industrial-style farming in China and find out it’s virtually unregulated and as a result, both soil and waterways are heavily contaminated with heavy metals, pesticide residues and industrial waste. That means crops are irrigated with filthy water supplies and grown in toxic soil, which ultimately make their way into the plant’s roots, stem, leaf and flower and thus into the oil.
And if you think that the CBD oil from Germany or other countries may be safe – you may want to do more research, because just like honey, China transships [sent to an intermediate country and relabeled as a product of that country to disguise its real origin] much of its CBD Oil to other countries.
So although the cost of foreign CBD oil costs far less than U.S. produced oil, we simply won’t compromise our products, or your health and skin!
Our non-GMO CBD Oil is derived from organically grown hemp in Colorado. It is rigorously tested, is naturally rich in Cannabidiol (CBD), contains Cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabinol (CBN), Cannabichromene (CBC), as well as terpenes, flavonoids, and essential amino acids. This combination makes for a rich, full-spectrum oil that mixes well with our already amazing ingredients to make skin look great, while soothing achy muscles and inflamed joints.
The irony is that our current administration’s mission is to retain jobs in America, save the American farmer and strengthen our economy. Yet, they are advocating federal legal restrictions on domestic cultivation of cannabis and hemp and striving to reschedule hemp-derived CBD as a schedule 1 drug; thus fueling China’s growth in this market. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
