Cold Showers are great! Say what?!!!
Your body is an incredible biodynamic ecosystem and cold shower is one way to help keep your body and mind healthy and energized. Besides, it’s summertime and we know from climate change that the weather is not getting any cooler☹️ Everyone from Martha Stewart to the most famous cold water advocate, Wim Hof, are embracing cold showers as a wellness routine. If you haven’t heard of Wim, then a simple google search will take you down a polar chute of cold water goodness (he’s run a half-marathon barefoot on ice and snow and once hiked up Everest in shorts).
No matter what, there are a lot of benefits to a cold shower, which include improved circulation, inflammation reduction, reduced stress as well as one of the most important reasons to consider a routine of cold showers are scientific studies which show “… that taking a cold shower increases the number of white blood cells in your body. These blood cells protect your body against diseases. Researchers believe this process is related to an increased metabolic rate, which stimulates the immune response.”
How do you even prepare yourself for a cold shower? From personal experience (Curt here), I know that it is literally a shock to the body, but after a few weeks of adding a cold blast of water at the end of the shower and working up to 60 seconds of cold water causing serious shrinkage, it definitely makes me more alert and energized, especially after a morning workout.
If you are not in the mood for a cold shower, the next best thing (and wayyyy less challenging) is a nice cold CBD Foot Soak after a long hot day on your feet. Trust us, it will change your life.
